Dr. Hargham, some people are aware of the term stress fracture and are concerned about it. What is stress fracture? So usually the stress fracture is a fracture without an injury or a proper injury, which usually happens in the feet. And the sufferer usually either train for the marathon or they do a lot of walking or running and they don't have any history of injury but then the foot gets swollen and painful and it is very important that we don't miss that because it might affect the person with a long-term pain. The importance of the stress fracture is you don't pick it up you put it on the x-ray in the first 10 to 14 days and then what we do usually if we have high suspicion of fracture then we ask the patient to come back in about two weeks time and then we x-ray them again and sometimes you can even do an MRI or CT scan for that.
