Non-surgical treatment of ankle injuries

Clearly fractures would involve an orthopaedic surgeon and probably an operation. In terms of non-operative management or sort of ankle injuries what sort of options are there? So the first line will be putting it either in a plaster of Paris or we call it a cast in a layman word or we can put it nowadays in an air cast boot where people can put the boot on and they can walk on it which is a little bit more preferable for the patient because they can mobilize with it and that will be at least put on there for at least four to six weeks.
