Improving hypertension management in Ghana - Gladys' story

Gladys lives in Oborpah, Ghana with her two young children. She has hypertension, a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, the most deadly non-communicable disease in the world. 1 in 4 adults like Gladys suffer from hypertension in Ghana, but only 4% of these have their blood pressure under control. Watch this film to find out how our ComHIP project is helping Gladys to receive the care that she needs to stay healthy and manage her condition. Community-based Hypertension Improvement Project (ComHIP) is an innovative healthcare model designed to improve hypertension management and control. Screening and treatment is shifted to the community and technology supports healthcare workers and empowers patient self-management. Program partners include FHI 360, Ghana Health Service, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, VOTO Mobile and many local partners.
