RelayPro Bare Stent

Relay Pro is a low-profile stent graft system designed specifically for the thoracic aorta. The delivery system consists of the outer and inner sheath, the controller, the arrow marker, the deployment grip and disengagement button, and the apex release grip, which releases the proximal clasp. All of these components are designed to work as one system in delivering the stent graft. To prepare RelayPro for use, ensure that the controller is in position 1 and flush the system with the heparinized saline through the flush port and guide wire lure. To activate the hydrophilic coating, wet the tip and outer sheath with saline and confirm that the apex release grip is in the correct position. Using fluoroscopy, introduce Relay Pro over a 0.035 guide wire. The outer sheath acts as an introducer sheath. Advance it until the tip reaches just below the intended distal landing zone. Confirm the appropriate target landing zones. Do not advance the outer sheath into the thoracic arc. Advance the inner sheath to the proximal landing zone. To do this, ensure that the system is in position 1 and rotate the deployment grip clockwise until the stent graft proximal markers reach the proximal landing zone. Visually confirm that the distal marker bands have exited the outer sheath by 2 cm. If preferred, the mechanical advantage can be bypassed by pressing the disengagement button while advancing the deployment grip. Put the controller knob in position 2 and rotate the deployment grip counterclockwise to unsheath the first covered stent. Verify the graft position. If desired, you can now reposition the stent graft. When ready, verify position 2 and press the disengagement button to deploy the stent graft in one continuous motion. To release the stent graft from the proximal clasp, turn the apex release grip and then pull back. Once the stent graft is deployed, turn the system to position 4 and retract the steel rod to reseat the tip into the outer sheath. You can now remove the system from the patient.
