RelayPro Thoracic Aneurysm Stent Graft

Relay Pro is a thoracic stent graft system designed specifically for the thoracic aorta. The delivery system consists of the outer and inner sheath, the control knob, the advancement indicator, the deployment grip and disengagement button, and the apex release grip to release the proximal clasp. All of these components are designed to work together in delivering the stent graft. To prepare Relay Pro for use, flush the system with heparinized saline through the flush port and through the guide wire lure. To activate the hydrophilic coating, wet the tip and outer sheath with saline. Now let's review the deployment process. Under fluoroscopy, introduce Relay Pro over an O35 guide wire. The outer sheath acts as an introducer sheath. Advance it until the tip reaches the approximate distal landing zone. Perform an angiogram and confirm the appropriate target landing zones. Advance the inner sheath to the proximal landing zone. To do this, ensure that the system is in position one and rotate the deployment grip clockwise until roughly half of the graft has left the primary sheath. You can now press the disengagement button to advance the handle until the system reaches the proximal landing zone. Verify that the deployment grip covers the advancement indicator. Confirm proper positioning and alignment of the S-bar. Now, put the controller knob in position two and rotate the deployment grip counterclockwise until the D-shaped marker on the inner sheath overlaps the radiopaque markers on the S-bar. Verify the graft position. If desired, you can now return to position one and reposition the stent graft. When ready, verify position two and press the disengagement button to deploy the stent graft in one continuous motion. To release the proximal clasp, turn the apex release grip and then pull back to release stent graft from the proximal clasp. Now that the stent graft is deployed, turn the system to position 4 and retract the steel rod to reseat the tip into the outer sheath. You can now remove the system from the patient.
