How was it for your family when you were diagnosed?

Worrying? At the time, I have three children, they're obviously all adults now, at the time let me think, my children were 12, 10 and 7. So you can imagine, you know, family life is, was, was quite busy when you've got children of that age and they're none of them, they're none of them stupid and I think it's sort of, I am, and again I touch, I keep wanting to touch would every time I say things, but I was and still am a famously healthy person. It's almost absurd to have to say it, but before I got type one, I had minimal interaction with the health service in any way, shape or form. So it was alarming that the husband and father who was always the one that was fitting well was suddenly the one with this big deal of a condition. So yes, and obviously... my wife in particular, you know... in the early stages, it's your partner that's the sort of... at the center of the storm really, isn't it? And it is... I referred to it earlier on, It is a very odd one is that is type one when the treatment is in day-to-day terms more threatening than the condition. And yeah... that spills over into you know, we've already mentioned driving and there must be a great temptation for others to say you know, So, my wife can drive and therefore... there must be a great temptation to say well, you know, just forget it! I'll do the driving from now on but I think that would be wrong and yet there you know, there is always that concern of you know, are you okay? And we've been driving for an hour and a half now, are you sure you're still fit to drive? So yeah, and that just spills over into every aspect of your life, doesn't it?
