European College of Phlebology (ECoP)

Good morning, we as the European College of Therapy, who is supporting the College of Therapy in Europe significantly by all kinds of initiatives, supports the idea as it's communicated by healthshare.com, an initiative in which the information for professionals is optimized to get better care for the patients. The European College of Phlebology is supporting this because it's it's really exactly what we also want. We established through the UEMS the first joint committee board on phlebology in 2012. In the meantime we have already an official board of phlebology with the UEMS in order to get official certificates throughout Europe for people who treat patients with venous disease. Because the practical training in Europe is taken care of by each country itself, but the theoretical part is not very well, let's say, supported by local society. So that's why the European College of Phlebology took the initiative to create an online e-learning course for everybody interested in phlebology. So all those professionals can really be taught how, from anatomy to diagnostics and treatment options to get to improve the quality of care for patient with a venous problem. And that's also why we let's say organize meetings like the one now upcoming in Amsterdam from 26 till 28 of November in which we have an in-person training program theoretically and practically with workshops. But as I said, I think it's very good that the European College of Pharmacology is supporting the health shared initiative because we are on the same page related to increasing the quality of care.
