Endovenous ablation of varicose veins

Introduce yourself. Yeah. Hi, good morning. My name is Achal Soni. I'm a 35 year old man. I'm working with a courier company. Basically, my leg was start paining and my feet was swelling and I feel that something is wrong. So, I decided to go to my GP and he told me that it's like a varicose vein. So, he referred me to West Middlesex Hospital in Mr. Dr. Jaffer's team and Dr. Jaffer analyzed my case and he referred me for a scan to Charing Cross Hospital for further scanning and yeah so from that reports and all that was Dr. Jaffer's team conduct my surgery and I did quite a lot think about this varicose vein and before our surgery you know was done it was a really painful my leg was swollen I could not even wear my shoes I had to wear different sizes of boots in bootlegs, different socks, such a painful... So then you had your surgery, and it was under local anaesthetic, wasn't it? Yeah, and yeah, so today my surgery was done, and they gave me a local... Local anaesthetic, with needles, but you weren't asleep, you were awake. Yeah, I wasn't asleep, but yeah, it was about 8, 10 needles, But to be honest with you, it was not that painful. Anyone can manage that. And even the whole team who was doing operation, they was quite so friendly. And they did not even let me feel that, you know, what's going on. Operation was straightforward. It took only 30 minutes. And it was what I was feeling before my surgery that is going to be really painful. but I would say I give you from 1 to 10 I would say it's just 2% pain for me so it's just a very quick and easy procedure and give me lots of benefit I wish. And now you're resting for 20 minutes with your leg up, stocking on your leg. Yeah. And then you go you get up and go home. Yes I'm fully comfortable, even though when my surgery is done, I walk by myself from surgery room and I feel like so comfortable. And you're going to be very active now every hour while you're away for the next two weeks. Yes, I try my best to do my routine and so that's what I've been told as well. So for a couple of weeks, I'm not going to do any exercise and all that. But my normal walking and all that, like my daily routine. I think you can be as active as you want. Yeah. But it's very important to move at least every hour. Yeah. Even for a few minutes to keep the circulation going so you don't get blood clots. Yeah. Is there anything you'd like to tell a prospective patient thinking about having this done? No, to be honest with you, it's a very quick procedure. I would imagine, in the back of my mind, it was that, you know, NHS is going to take a long time to resolve this issue, but everything is done within three months' time. So, yeah, the procedure was so fast, team was very helpful and again operation is very easy, very straightforward, no pain and so, yeah, I'm very comfortable with this surgery and with the doctor's team.
