Clinicians involved throughout the AAA journey.

Well, obviously, I started off with the screening interview, which was obviously a nurse, a nurse technician at the hospital. Then I was referred to the vascular, the outpatient vascular surgeon unit at Leeds General Infirmary where I spoke to a doctor. Whether he was a consultant or not, I'm not quite sure. Is that important? All right. Okay. So then I went through the various tests. So obviously there were nurses and I'm not quite sure what you call them, people who test administrators shall we say so that would be for the exercises the uh the further scans chest x-rays uh what else cardiographs uh things like that then i went back then when after i had all the tests i obviously went back and spoke to another doctor again who and we taught, we spoke through the tests and that's when he told me I was fit and in view of the results that they had they were looking to do open surgery as opposed to an EVAR. So I said fine then I went for, well then it had to go to the vascular unit MDT so they could finally decide well a group a group of vascular surgeons and radiologists and anesthetists I suppose I don't quite know who was on it had a meeting and decided yes you were going to they were going to recommend open surgery so then I had to go back after the MDT speak to the doctor again he told me what they were recommending or what they decided. I said fine I think I might assign a patient consent form at that stage I can't quite remember because as I said last week it was six years ago. So then I had to go for a pre operative assessment with with I think that started with the doctor again then the anesthetist who tells you he's going to knock you out and what's going to happen and anything else yeah and then they just said right we'll set a date and then I got the date I got a letter and as I said last week I was quite happy because it you know I didn't I was supposed to turn up on Monday and I didn't get a phone call on the Monday to say don't bother possibly haven't got a bed or anything like that and so then I was obviously went admitted to the to the ward spoke to a nurse I suppose and made sure I was all right and and then the doctor came around and said right you know we're aiming to put you in at whatever time it was in the morning and then in the morning obviously changed into my fantastic operating gown and was taken down by a porter, met by a nurse and the anesthetist and then I had the operation.
