What can healthcare learn from Patients?

Good morning, Ron. Good morning. You're a patient advocate and you do a lot of work in healthcare. I want to ask you a question. What can healthcare learn from patients? It's a very general question, but... An understanding of what some of the patients are actually going through. What the treatment feels like and how it's going to make your day-to-day life. life? Yeah apart from the medication that one might have to go through. If you have to go for a procedure to explain what to expect during the recovery period because I had a bypass 19 years ago but what they didn't tell me was what I was going to expect over the next two years during recovery. Things like depression, mood swings, loss of memory I think that's become recognized now as something that can happen after a bypass procedure on the heart and you're saying that probably was appreciated in the past but it wasn't something that you got told no and would it be in a factor in your decision-making process I think it would have done because I'd already had a life-changing experience because I actually flatlined having a heart attack yeah that feeling of survival became so strong that after I had my bypass I just wanted to get back to living normal life I was actually exercising and doing things that I was normally doing only to told I shouldn't be doing it. Partly because I was in heart failure and I didn't find that out until nine months later. Being just a normal Joe blogger at the time to be told I'm in heart failure, frightened the little daylights out of me, I thought well I've just had a heart attack flatline once and they're now telling me I'm gonna die. But it's not, it's actually a condition. So you needed your heart bypass, it was important to you know survive but you're saying that had you known about these symptoms it may have changed your ability to cope. Absolutely. Thank you.
