What are the differences between men and women for abdominal aortic aneurysms?

Professor Alun Davies explains that women are less likely to develop abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) than men. There is an argument for intervening at a lower threshold size for women (5cm) than men (5.5cm). A big topic of research is also whether women have poorer outcomes after surgery than men.
