Varicose Veins

So my name is David McLean, I'm a surgeon in South Wales. It is common to find people can have operations under local anaesthetic and have the main vein and leg treated quite successfully. But many people struggle with removing the actual varicose vein, the lumpy bit in the leg, under local anaesthetic and this station is about how to do that treatment under local anaesthetic in a way that patient can walk in, have their veins treated fully and walk out and return to normal activity within minutes of their operation. It's as successful as doing it under general anaesthetic but with none of the complications of that procedure.
