Hello I'm Gary Bain from The Wound Guy. If you experience swelling in one or both legs, you know you get up in the morning the swelling is not too bad but as the day goes on you start to get puffiness in your feet, then please talk to your doctor because there are many reasons why swelling can happen and this is what as with anything if you can treat the cause then you're a long way fixing the problem. Three things I'd like to talk to you about if you do get swelling. If you do find that swelling builds up during the day then you're more often than not a victim of gravity and one of the things that helps you deal with gravity and try and keep the fluid in your limbs to a minimum is your compression. That can be the form of a stocking or a wrap or bandaging but you You want to get your compression on early in the day, keep it on throughout the day. We usually say to folks, if your undies are on, your compression should be on. The second thing is elevation can help. If you can get your ankles up near as high as your heart, then that's really worthwhile. And combining compression with elevation is a pretty good double act. And then the last thing is exercise, because the muscles in your legs are your pumps that help you push fluid out of your legs. So if you combine these three things of compression, elevation and exercise, then you really have a good thing going. All the best. Bye for now.
