Podcast Episode 34: Members experiences of Leg Clubs

We are delighted to announce two new speakers, Megan Hunter and Kelly Buxey. Both Megan an Kelly are clinical trainers with medi UK. Megan has worked in a Leg Club and Kelly has experience in setting up and running a Leg Club. The podcast is an interesting insight in to the views of Leg Club members (patients), volunteers and the nursing team.

A warm welcome to our new speaker, Liz Hamlet who is a registered nurse and clinical support manager at Molnlycke Health Care. On behalf of the Leg Club Industry Partners Liz is talking about understanding the role and function of healthcare industry clinicians within Leg Clubs.

We welcome a new speaker Mr Mike Hoskins who is Chair of the Leg Club Foundation and has a long association with the charity as he was instrumental in its inception in 2004. Mike is discussing the benefits of cycling. This interesting podcast not only covers the physical aspects of cycling but the little know benefits to your mental health.

Join Dilshara Suriyarachchi and Rosalind Birt who are discussing Falls Prevention. Dilshara and Rosalind and both Physiotherapists who work in a rehab hospital. Dilshara has 10 years’ experience and Rosalind over 30 years. Both of them find the work rewarding with enjoy helping to get people back on their feet and improving their confidence.

We welcome two new speakers, Sam Williams and Jane Mayes who currently work for Essity, one of our Leg Club Industry Partners. Sam and Jane are discussing taking a central role in my wound care journey with the listener gaining a better understanding of supported self-care, self-care and as a patient taking a role in your wound healing journey.
