Personal experiences of Covid-19

Harlan, you're a healthcare professional, you're a paediatric doctor, how has Covid affected you personally? Okay, on a personal level, maybe as a paediatrician or as a children doctor, I'm reassured because the up-to-date evidence we know that children are less affected in a way, so they will have Covid but they still, they will be okay, they might suffer from fever but they are still okay. So they are the least group would be affected by COVID. That is proven by evidence. However, as a healthcare professional who work in NHS who came from abroad, I still do have my parents who are back home. I'm a person who used to go to see them three times a year to be around them, take my kids so they can enjoy spending a quality time with their grandchildren. With the travel restrictions. I'm not able to go and see them now and that's affected me, that's affected them in a way. They can't see their grandchildren, I can't be with them. Every day when I wake up in the morning I think what if they get Covid? I'm not going to be able to go there and to be around them to give them help they need from me and I'm expected to give them at this time of their life. So it is a worry, I think about it every day. I might not suffer from COVID myself but it has a huge implication on myself and my family.
