How does Freestyle Libre fit into your lifestyle?

I alluded before to the idea of it being a good fit with middle age. I am a creature of habit. I'm a creature of routine. I had a job that's very much, yes it's very demanding physically and mentally, but it is pretty predictable. and therefore the day-to-day routine of administering insulin via multiple injections. And it wasn't that at the outset, you know, that a lot has changed. I was just sort of on the cusp of it becoming common to have five injections a day. The basal bolus was by no means standard back in the late nineties. Um, but I adapted to that pretty well. Um, and I'm still on that and have never, uh, never been offered pump therapy. And of course, that's becoming increasingly topical, uh, even in the last, last week or so with the, um, the, the changes to the, the nice guidelines. Um, But by a by a mile by an absolute mile, the the introduction of non invasive real time monitoring is the game changer. And I think anyone with type one will will tell you that. And I was fortunate to be one of the earliest adopters of flash glucose monitoring or freestyle Libre. And as soon as I saw that existed, I was keen to have it even though at the time that was at quite a price. It was £100 a month but I think most people will tell you that that's the game changer is knowing regularly as many times as you want what your level is And more importantly, knowing where it's going... the trend arrow, it's all very well knowing that your blood sugar is 5.5 on paper. That's textbook perfect level, but if it's 5.5 and falling sharply, then you're going to be in serious trouble within half an hour. And if you're driving, you should stop. If it's 5.5 and it's rising sharply, in about an hour's time, you're going to be feeling very thirsty and uncomfortable. So that is beyond question the game changer.
