Aorto-bifemoral bypass surgery for short distance claudication

Well I was an alcoholic and I came off alcohol and found out that I couldn't walk properly. I didn't realise it had blocked my main artery and fatty foods as well caused that. I went through a few tests and the surgeons and the doctors found out that I'd done my main archery in, but I couldn't move, I couldn't walk. I could walk down the road for about five minutes and sit on the wall and then stretch my leg out because it was so fizzy. How far could you walk? I could walk the size of this room and then rest and then the size of this room again and rest. So literally you couldn't do anything? Yeah, I should have been a bit more healthier in my life but you know you hit bad times in life and some people go to the the drugs, I went for the drink and if I didn't quit drinking I'd probably have lost my leg. Any regrets about the operation? No, not really. You know, it was scary. First time I've ever been cut open. The cut's healed up now? Yeah, it's all healed up now.
