What tests I had done when I was being investigated for Atrial Fibrillation

David, when you started to go down this process of being investigated for atrial fibrillation, what were the sort of tests you needed to go through? Obviously ECG, I had an ECG, I had an echocardiogram, they obviously monitored blood pressure and didn't do much about my heart rate which was resting averaging about 80 but I knew that for me that was high because my previous resting heart rate was 50 at best which I think is a familial thing. Was it obvious at the outset that atrial fibrillation was causing your symptoms? I suppose once I was told yes but I never like many people with ATIP was I was conscious of my heart either beating too loudly or having arrhythmia that I was conscious of. I think the only time I noticed it, and only when I was alert, was if I took my own blood pressure. The heart rate beat was not like a metronome. You could hear it go dum-dum-da-dum. And once I knew that, I knew that, but now I've got a handheld device which takes an ECG on my smartphone and I can find out if I'm still in sinus rhythm or not.
