Once you get home from an ablation, you've had the procedure, a small access from the leg up to the heart. It's the access from the leg which is the most important because that's the bit that can bleed after a procedure. Remember for your procedure you will be on blood thinners for the atrial fibrillation and it's important to therefore take care on the leg afterwards. We usually say don't drive for a week, no heavy lifting for a couple of days but do take care, watch the leg, make sure there's no bleeding from there. If there's any doubt or you're worried be in touch with the ward, the nurse or the doctor that was involved in your care for any advice or to the emergency department if you're worried about bleeding.
