There are lots of different health care providers which can help you with the care of your surgical wound. These include nurses which can work in the community, they can attend your home like district nurses, they can be located in your general practitioner's office, so so-called practice nurses, and there are also nurses that work in a hospital setting. Doctors are also involved in the care of wounds, particularly surgeons who will care for the wounds that they have created themselves to perform the surgery which may have been performed on you.
