What is the difference between a Stroke and a TIA or mini-stroke

Dr. Ali Sheikh, I was wanting to ask you, what's the difference between a TIA and a stroke? Okay, so TIA stands for Translucid Ischaemic Attack. Both stroke and TIA give you similar symptoms, but the time frame makes the difference. In TIA, your symptoms, a focal neurological symptom lasts for a few hours, usually less than one hour or up to 24 hours. Whereas in stroke, your symptom persists much longer. You may see changes in your MRI scan, though with new advances in MRI, TIA may also show changes in the MRI.
