What is a Diabetic Foot Ulcer?

Dr Mushtaqur Rahman, Consultant Endocrinologist and Diabetologist talks about the usual locations of ulcers which are caused by lack of blood supply (Ischamic Ulcers). He talks about ulcers on the tips of the toes as well as the soles of the feet. He also and how different causes can occur together so we can't rely on location alone.

Dr Prashant Vas, Consultant Endocrinologist and Diabetologist talks about how difficult it is to heal ulcers in the feet of people with Diabetes. He explains that healing is easier the quicker the treatment is given. In the UK, he says, that 50% of Diabetic foot ulcers heal within 12 weeks with treatment.
