What does redness associate to?

Again, as I've mentioned previously, the cause of the redness determines the associated symptoms and features. A lot of the time with inflammatory causes, you will get local swelling because of improved blood flow to the area, which is what causes the inflammation in the first place. So if you do have an allergic reaction or if you do have thrombophlebitis which is inflammation of the veins then a lot of the time you will get associated itching and swelling. Cellulitis per se is generally associated with swelling only and not so much itching just because of how the infective process propagates and leads to localized blood flow and improved and increased swelling. you
