what can be expected when recovering from an arthroscopy? Yeah, so typically we advise the patients that, look, in the first few days you will have some pain. We do discharge them with analgesia. Normally, when they are discharged, they have local anesthetic on board so it's relatively comfortable. But we make them aware that this will wear off at some point in the next 10 to 12 hours. you need to be taking the analgesia that you are discharged with. With the analgesia, typically with most arthroscopic procedures, often patients say they took the analgesia for the first three, four days and usually after that it was very intermittent and pain is not a major problem. There are of course some patients who have feel more pain than others and they're advised then to take more regular analgesia. But typically I find that in the first three to four days there is a requirement for regular analgesia which tends to then wear off.
