What can people do to prevent tennis elbow? So factors, I mean, so if we say people working at computers are significant risk because of the way they use the mouse with the wrist extended. So there are measures that people can put in place. So there are different types of mouse that you can use. So the mouse that you can use from the side, operate from the side, this sliding bar on the side and often occupational health that a lot of workplaces will advise on that. The other thing is to actually put a support under the wrist so that when you are using the keyboard that the wrist is supported under the wrist and that your wrist is sitting at a more neutral posture as opposed to extended because as soon as you come into neutral the the tennis or the lateral epicondylar area, the common extensor tendon is offloaded. So these are some of the factors at work, for instance, that people can improve to improve the position of the wrist and also offload the lateral epicondylar area. The other thing that people can do is actually, and there are online exercises for this as well, is to improve the forearm strength of the extensor muscles and there are various exercises shown to do that and the way and by doing that you will actually improve the offloading of the tendons by improving the muscle strength and that's one of the arms of physiotherapy or rehabilitation for this as well.
