Well it started off with an ulcer on the bottom of the foot and eventually they decided that they were going to do a vascular bypass which they done on the 21st of February. I come out of the operation and then for some reason I don't know why I was taken back in because something wasn't quite right and And while I was doing that the, I forget her name, Cat I called her, we called her, found out there was something wrong with my heart. So after I had the operation done in St Mary's Hospital for a week, I was transferred to Hammersmith Hospital where I had a pacemaker put in. And ever since then, we've come back, we've been up to St Mary's at Paddington for my leg, because the vascular wasn't quite right, the scarring and all that, I've had district nurses come round and the bottom part of the scarring gaped open quite a bit and they are now trying to reduce the gape by putting these new dressings on which is a Pico dressing which is wired up to a little box that I have to put in my pocket and it buzzes every now and then and it sucks the, well the only reason I can call it is muck out of it. But it hasn t caused you any problems? It hasn t caused me any problems or anything. And they ve been very, very good. Yeah, they ve, the, the staff, I mean, are wonderful. Em, I mean so much so that I think next, er, next Monday the wife s got to go up to St Mary s to pick up another dressing because there s no, em, Cat won t be here on a Tuesday to, to do it. So my wife's going to actually get the podiatry people to clean it off and my wife will stick it on because she knows how to do it now. Just listen to them and try to... I think to put your trust into them. Yeah just put your trust into them. I mean I know what's going on you know it's going to take a longer time to heal than normal I I mean the other scar because I had a scar on the top of the leg which was that was stapled and then the bottom part was stitched. Staple you can hardly see the scar now but the bottom part where it was stitched had gaped open and I had the steri strips put on it from the district nurse as well but it was quite a gap it was about a quarter of an inch wide and it's now gone to about half an inch but everything is healing at a slow time. Are you happy with? I'm happy with everything, yeah. Good pulse now in your foot? Yeah, pulse is in the foot. The ulcers going quicker? Just like to say how wonderful the staff are. The team is The team are fantastic in the podiatry and the vascular, can't fault them at all.
