My experience of HbA1c monitoring.

Daniel talks about the regular check ups he has a person with Type 1 Diabetes. He splits these checks up into things that he does for himself and others that are done for him by healthcare professionals.

Dr Sheharyar Quraishi, Consultant Endocrinologist and Diabetologist talks about which people wit Diabetes are eligible under the UK NHS for an Insulin Pump. He talks about screening tests and hypo awareness, mental health issues and HbA1c levels being all factors which may be considered.

Sister Parminder Rihal, Diabetes Specialist Nurse explains that HbA1c can be used as a test to diagnose Diabetes. But, importantly she explains that is a person is Anaemic (has low Haemoglobin level in the blood) then the HbA1C test can mistakenly not pick up that a person is actually Diabetic. In that case she would recommend a different test to use.

This is Parminder Rihal, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Diabetes, discussing the HbA1c targets and how people will have individual targets based on some personalised demographics.

Dr Mushtaqur Rahman, Consultant Endocrinologist and Diabetologist explains what the risk are of developing Diabetes after delivery if you've had Gestational Diabetes. He explains when testing the new mother is done after delivery. He gives advice on how you can adapt your diet to be as health as healthy as possible after delivery which will help even if you are diagnosed with Diabetes.
