I mean, when I started seeing the podiatrist, when on both feet, I developed cracks in my heels and I used to see the podiatrist at Newbury Community Hospital on a regular basis but it was sort of once every two to three weeks and they treated the cracks in the heels by cutting away the dead skin. At no stage was I told that this could develop into a serious condition. It was only when my wife got very concerned about how it was developing that she arranged an appointment with her GP in London who immediately admitted me to the Lister Hospital, where the ulcer was already quite far advanced. Sepsis. Yeah.
