How long do I need to be followed up by a specialist for venous malformations?

The length of time you'd need to see a vascular specialist is by and large related to how extensive the symptoms and the actual malformation was to begin with. So if it is a smaller malformation with minimum symptoms and the treatment has been quite successful, then a single follow-up is largely sufficient. However, in patients with larger venous malformations or more severe symptoms, they may require subsequent treatments in order to improve their symptoms, and in that case patients tend to get reviewed after three months of an intervention to see how they've progressed to allow enough time for that intervention to mature and see its overall benefit.
