Diabetic foot ulcers are quite difficult to heal and the success of healing depends on how soon we are able to see them within these specialist clinics to start treatment. And treatment might be, for example, for neuropathic ulcers, ulcers because of nerve damage, is that the rapidity of starting offloading of pressure relief and in circulatory ulcers, ensuring that blood flow is restored as soon as possible. So the time taken to deliver that initial assessment will play a significant role in getting ulcers to heal. At present, the data from the United Kingdom Diabetic Foot Audit shows that about 50% of diabetic foot ulcers, and this is any diabetic foot ulcer, are healed within the first 12 weeks. So we have a big challenge and fundamentally the sooner we see the ulcers within our specialist clinic is the faster we can get them to heal.
