How do you motivate yourself to face challenges posed by the winter season? Are you struggling to stay motivated in the winter months? Is it hard when the days are short and dark with miserable weather? Is it often mentally and physically difficult to even get started on things you want to do? Our Healthshed community also shares how they face and overcome those challenges. The motivation for me is to be out and about. You see the odd person passing by, you smile at them, say good morning, then you move on and see some birds and nature really and different types of trees and what have you. So motivation for me is the fact that I'm there, I'm alive and how can I make the rest of the day interesting enough before I retire for bed in the evening. I think it's working within teams. We work at King's in a wonderful team. There are various different streams of the team but they all come together when it's needed. At home it's family that keeps you going you know when your kids wait for you to come home in the evening or wait for you to tell you what new thing they have done it's really fantastic and these are the simple things in life but they also are the more wonderful things in life and that keeps me going? Things that you need to consider like family members who may be elderly, who you're also trying to motivate. So motivating each other together is much more, it's a much simpler process than trying to motivate yourself alone because you, we're very good as human beings at saying, setting ourselves targets. I want to do this, I'm going to get this done today. But if you have nothing that's motivating you or you don't have a deadline to to achieve what ends up happening is that you berate yourself at the end of the day for not having done it what you really need is a support mechanism so you want other people to say you know what i've been doing this diet it works for me let's do it together or it's really hard at six o'clock in the morning when i'm leaving to go to work and it's really dark and it's really cold i can't motivate myself to go out and go to walk down to the train station or do all of those things because it's wet and the slip you have to think of all of these things and you're like I can't do that but then you get together with a group of friends who are doing a boot camp at six o'clock in the morning and you're there suffering it together and that kind of drives you to keep going. Having knowledge is is a goldmine of motivation to face your challenges with. We all experience the lows both physically and emotionally and the dark, cold winter weather doesn't help. Our community members all have different ways to motivate themselves.
