How do you motivate yourself to face challenges posed by the winter season? Are you struggling to stay motivated in the winter months? Is it hard when the days are short and dark with miserable weather? Is it often mentally and physically difficult to even get started on things you want to do? Our Healthshed community also shares how they face and overcome those challenges. Well, I think like a lot of things, there's two sides of the coin, there are things that all of us don't like about winter but there are also things that we do like and I think the main way you can motivate yourself to take on the hard bits is to think about how much more you'll enjoy the good bits if you manage to control the things you don't like and I think particularly for a diabetic, all celebrations and things like that come with that question mark about how much did you eat and drink compared to everybody else. But really, you are the best person to understand what will make you happy and how you'll get the most out of something. And if you control the negatives, it gives you more opportunity to enjoy the positives. It's a difficult one. I think because, I mean, for instance, shopping and things, I live near shops in a village, so that I can go out and then I can meet people as well out there. So I think that's the motivation and the sort of exercising that I can exercise. Yes, if I have to go to work, I don't feel well or low mood, you know, nice music, good session of meditation, 10 minutes, which helps a lot. And then I always think about my job itself is an important job. We are here to help people, so I have to be healthy, I have to be motivated because I know there are people waiting for me, for me and us, I mean in the hospital for us to help them. So it's actually the job itself is a great motivation, you know, we love this job, we love help people, we love taking care of people so that motivates me so absolutely so and I know I have to stay healthy I have to take care of myself for myself for my family but also for my patients. Having knowledge is a goldmine of motivation to face your challenges with. We all experience the lows both physically and emotionally, and the dark, cold winter weather doesn't help. Our community members all have different ways to motivate themselves.
