How do varicose veins develop?

Well, varicose veins develop because of venous hypertension and or valve, venous valve abnormality. So the case is that if you've got high pressure higher up in the system, then it results in dilatation of the veins and therefore it makes it more difficult for the veins in the legs to carry blood out of the legs back to the heart and so you get blood that what we call refluxing so it's going down the leg in the wrong direction. In addition if the veins themselves dilate then the valves may not meet centrally and so therefore they become ineffective and therefore or blood will reflux or go down the leg.
