Endovenous ablation of varicose veins

Okay what procedure have you just had done? A vascular procedure. Would you like to tell us about your experience during the procedure? Yeah it was very good I was a bit nervous at first but I think that's normal with any surgery but it went very smoothly. The surgeon that did it, the doctor that did it was absolutely fabulous. I didn't feel no pain, there was no pain whatsoever. It was very gentle. The surgery went very quick compared to what I thought it was going to be. And it's done a fabulous job on me and I'm really pleased about it, you know. And yeah, and hopefully that it'll stay down. I don't know what to say really, I'm having a bit of a... The last one, did anything unexpected happen? Nothing, everything went smoothly. Yeah. Is there anything you'd like, is there anything you'd recommend to someone who's going to have the procedure done? Yeah, well, just go through with it. There's nothing to be afraid of, you know. I think it's better with this way of surgery than when they have to strip the veins because they have to put them under anaesthetic. Here you don't have to, you just have a numbing version and the rest is just straightforward. Did it work out quite well that it was done on a Saturday or would you have preferred it to be done during the week? I don't mind, as long as it's done, you know, and I don't have to wait a long time, which was marvellous. It was only two weeks I had to wait and that was absolutely fabulous, you know, because I've got arthritis in it as well, so that's why they've had to do it, because they're going to give me a new knee, and because of that they had to take the veins away from the knee. But no, it was absolutely marvellous. There's nothing to be frightened of whatsoever. Just stay calm. Do what the doctor says, and you'll be okay. You know? That's it. What, you want more? You can say more if you'd like. No, I didn't talk very good, do you know? It's fine by me. It makes better content than if someone just sort of sits there all sheepish. Don't edit it out, eh? I've always been a cheerful person, you know? I know I smile a lot and sometimes I shouldn't, but I have to because it helps me, it helps me with my nerves, you know, but they were marvellous, very, very nice and he's marvellous that doctor. What's his name? Doctor? Jaffo. Jaffo? Husband Jaffo. Oh, right. Doctor Jaffo is absolutely, he really was and what I liked most about it, it takes you through the procedure. He just doesn't do everything and I think that eased me off a bit, you know, it made me relax more. And yeah, it was good. I'm really pleased with the outset and just hopefully that it will stay like this now. And yeah, he's lovely. He really is a lovely doctor. I've fallen in love, Dave.
