The veins that have been incompetent during pregnancy and have caused bulging and symptoms can revert to normality and not to be non-incompetent following the delivery of the child. However, the majority of people are left with some incompetent veins and symptoms. Often these then become worse during subsequent pregnancies. It is very important that you do not listen to the old wives tale of not having an intervention between pregnancies. If you have symptomatic veins and you are thinking of going on to have further pregnancies, should still consider having interventional treatment prior to your next pregnancy.
