Are there any new innovations in wound dressings to improve healing?

Clearly, there's been a lot of interest in technology to improve healing of surgical wounds and some of those technologies involve the dressing material to stick to bacteria so that when the wound dressing gets changed, the bacteria get lifted off. Other technologies involve creating a very positive and conducive environment for wound healing by producing negative pressure or suction on the wound. And other technologies are there to try to keep bacteria out of the wound by occluding the wound and preventing infection getting in. There are multiple technologies which have been evaluated by various organizations and they provide an analysis of best evidence for using these technologies which is quite important as it's important to know that the technology has a solid sort of evidence base behind it for what can sometimes be an expensive additional treatment.
