Alcohol and my Diabetes - complications and support.

For years and years and years, nothing much seemed to have stemmed from my diabetic condition. But four and a half years ago, my wife died. We've been married an awful long time, and I don't mean awful in the awful sense, of course, but the, and I started to drink heavily, which was not a good plan. And winding forward until about a year ago or so, I think I was becoming more heavily reliant on alcohol. on alcohol. And therefore what happened was I attempted to go upstairs, I actually fell down the stairs and to cut a long story short I was taken into hospital. I was diagnosed free of COVID on admission. This was in November, 2020, free of COVID. But after five days, I tested positive. So I think I might've caught that virus there. But the other thing that occurred was that I got started, I get bed sores on my heels. And this is what's put me in a wheelchair ever since, but I'm getting over that now. But all of this actually has a strong, I believe a strong link to the diabetic condition. And I think I just got lucky on several accounts. On several counts, one was that I fell into the clutches of A, the medical profession just at the right time. Even better news was falling into the clutches of Mr. Jaffa, and equally good news was having a fantastic sister who helped look after me. And I would say, I'm sorry, I know I'm rambling a little bit, but I would say this is life, which is an event which is connected to diabetes. Health and support is a real great thing to have, and it's unbeatable, really. So, I mean, anyone who's taking the trouble to listen to me perhaps could take this on board if they don't already recognise it.
