What are aneurysms?

What are aneurysms? So aneurysms are an abnormal or pathological dilatation of a vessel. That's usually with reference to the arterial circulation. When we talk about aneurysms they can occur in pretty much any vessel in the body, you know the large vessels such as the aorta and and in fact the smaller vessels of the limbs such as the popliteal artery, and you know also when we talk about ruptured aneurysms in the brain, they can happen there as well, so they have consequences if not treated appropriately.
