Tell us about your experience of this procedure. My referral started back in December 2014 when I went to see my GP. I had my first appointment at St Mary's on March or April 2015. The first two appointments are group appointments whereby there are other patients who are interested in having bariatric surgery and the various procedures are gone through and on the second visit when you come back it's to decide which one you would prefer to go ahead with. speak to the surgeon and the dietician I believe I spoke to. You then have to come back for a third appointment to see the psych who will just go through some medical history with you and then it was a waiting process for your case to be discussed at MDT which took a little bit of time. I was then given an appointment date of the 9th of December as my surgery date.
