Sleeve gastrectomy

Filmed on 13/01/2016 GB, 49 years old female, suffering from morbid obesity with body mass index (BMI) above 40. She tried diets and medications for weight loss but with very little success and could not maintain lower weight. Her medical background involves asthma and lower back pain. She was offered laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (removal of the part of stomach body) with the intention of losing 25% of total body weight. She underwent mandatory psychiatric assessment before the surgery. Her recovery after sleeve gastrectomy was good. She started losing weight and her mobility much improved since the procedure.
