What grading tools are used for diabetic foot ulcers?

What sort of grading tools or measuring tools do you use for diabetic foot ulcers? So there's a standard grading tool called the SIMBAD score, as in SIMBAD the sailor, but it's, as things are medicine, it's an acronym where the S of SIMBAD stands for sight, the I stands for ischemia, which means lack of blood supply, the N stands for neuropathy, which is nerve damage, the B stands for bacterial infection, the A for area and the D for depth. And what we do when we see someone with a diabetic foot ulcer is we calculate the SYNBAD score using those parameters, those factors, and that can tell us the severity of an ulcer, which can tell us how quickly an ulcer is likely to heal up. And so that's a standard tool used by most diabetes foot teams and it's useful to know because it can help to triage people, help to tell who needs to see a doctor more quickly and it helps to show what kind of treatments are required and how quickly someone's like to heal or not heal.
