GLP-1 is glucagon like peptide 1, it is a hormone that runs in all our bodies and works amongst many other things it does, it works on our brain to make us feel full after a meal. So the chemical and pharmaceutical industry has managed to artificially make this hormone and these can now be purchased as medicines which are prescribed and if you take these medicines they will lead to early fullness or satiety after a meal which of course will lead to reduced calorie intake and weight loss.
