EVAR requires the use of contrast. This is the same contrast dye used for CT scans. Overtime, contrast load may hurt the kidney. This is especially important if kidney function was marginal to start with. Prof Mussa discusses the use of contrast and what can be done to minimize the injury to the kidneys.
