It's important to have good blood pressure control before surgery because during surgery we want to make sure that the blood pressure is correctly regulated both during and after the operation. And if your blood pressure is already fully controlled before surgery this will lead to potentially high risk of complications such as bleeding in the peri- and post-operative period.
