How do I motivate myself? It depends a little bit on what the thing is that I need to motivate myself to get done. I have several jobs and I'm quite busy and so the way that I manage all of that is by being ridiculously organized and planning stuff really carefully in the future. So that I try and make time and block out time for different things. I'm doing a master's degree at the moment and I really struggle to get motivated to do things like assignments and things. The thing that motivates me most for those is time pressure. So if I leave it to the last minute, I absolutely have to do it. How does that affect my diabetes? It actually makes it quite difficult to manage because no two days in my life are the same and no two days have the same routine. And so some days are very sedentary and I sit at a desk day looking at a computer and some days are super active. And so it means that the amount of insulin I need every day is really random and really variable. Which I guess just means I have to be quite on the ball about checking my blood sugar a lot.
