Thank you Mr. Richard. Can you please briefly explain to our patients how you perform surgery for Achilles tendinopathy? So we'll just flick through some of the slides. So that's the shockwave therapy we were talking about earlier and if that doesn't work then we move on to surgical intervention and what surgery does is we open up the Achilles tendon and shave off those bony spurs that we saw earlier I mean clinically it looks like this but it's better to show you as a diagram because it's easier to explain. We would open the Achilles tendon, shave off the bony prominences, tidy everything up from inside and then repair the Achilles tendon and reattach it. Sometimes we also lengthen the Achilles at the same time and post-operatively we would treat this similar to an Achilles rupture that we've discussed previously ie it would go into a boot with some wedges to offload it and allow it time to heal.
