What if I have iron deficiency anaemia? Is this a problem for my surgery?
Anemia happens when your body does not produce enough red blood cells, or when the blood cells do not contain enough hemoglobin to transport oxygen to your tissues (caused by iron deficiency). If untreated, anemia may force the hospital to postpone your operation.
